ABOUT

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the newer franchises in the history of the National Football League. Established in 1959 the Kansas City Chiefs compete in the AFC West Division of the National Football League. The Kansas City Chiefs was originally established as the Dallas Texans and one of the inaugural teams in the American Football League(created to rival the National Football League in 1960). The team relocated to Kansas City in 1963 and has since been known as the Kansas City Chiefs. After the AFL-NFL merger in the 1970s the Kansas City Chiefs faced a playoff slump, but they picked up in the 1990s. The Chiefs are one of the best teams in the NFL in recent years spearheaded by lethal players like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Chris Jones. The Kansas City Chiefs is currently owned by Clark Hunt, whose father the late Lamar Hunt founded the franchise. He has been instrumental for the recent successes of the Chiefs. The Kansas City Chiefs are valued at around $3.7 billion as of 2022.
